HYBE delivered the strongest quarter in its history, posting second-quarter revenue of 1.45 trillion won ($995.2 million) and operating profit of 170.9 billion won ($117.3 million), both more than doubling from a year earlier. The beat arrives after a first quarter distorted by a 255 billion won stock-compensation charge tied to a major shareholder’s share contribution, which pushed the company to a 196.6 billion won operating loss. Net profit swung to 109.8 billion won ($75.3 million), up 610 percent. The report landed after the Kospi closed down 10.8 percent on a semiconductor-led rout that triggered a circuit breaker, meaning the market’s reaction will wait until Wednesday.

The BTS engine runs hot

The turnaround is almost entirely a BTS story. The group’s ARIRANG World Tour kicked off in April, after the first-quarter books closed, and concert revenue exploded 243 percent year-over-year and 630 percent quarter-over-quarter to 647.7 billion won ($444.6 million). Recorded music revenue climbed 43 percent to 326.8 billion won ($224.3 million), led by the ARIRANG album, which Luminate ranks as the top-selling vinyl and CD in the United States for the first half of 2026 with 567,000 copies. HYBE artists occupied five of the top ten U.S. CD slots: ENHYPEN at number two (286,000), CORTIS at five (169,000), Tomorrow X Together at seven (123,000) and KATSEYE at ten (106,000). The volume helped push South Korea to third place globally among music exporters, behind only the United States and United Kingdom.

Platform growth cools while touring pipeline swells

Weverse hit a record 14.43 million monthly active users, but quarterly growth slowed to 8 percent from 20 percent in the first quarter. The platform added Filipino acts SB19 and BINI, pushing its artist communities past 200, and both total payment volume and average revenue per paying user rose 12 percent and 24 percent quarter-over-quarter respectively. The touring calendar suggests the top line can stay elevated: HYBE artists played 119 shows in the first half and have more than 200 booked for the second half, with BTS, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, BOYNEXTDOOR, ILLIT, KATSEYE, &TEAM, TWS, aoen and CORTIS all on the road. The question is whether the platform’s monetization curve can keep pace with the touring machine once the current cycle peaks.
